The Arab American Democratic Club, the largest grassroots Arab American political and voting organization in Illinois, proudly announces its endorsements for candidates running in the April 4, 2023 non-partisan General Elections, in Chicago and in the suburbs.

Early voting begins on March 20 and we urge you to support your community by supporting these candidates in your municipality or district. Each of these candidates have gone out of their way to express support for the Arab American community. Getting them elected will strengthen our community.

FOR MAYOR OF CHICAGO
We strongly endorse PAUL VALLAS.

During his appearance at AADC’s Feb. 12, Candidate’s Forum and Brunch, Vallas demonstrated not only his knowledge of the issues that Arab Americans face, but detailed his long history of involvement working with Arab Americans in the schools and in the Chicagoland region.
 
Mr. Vallas has promised to restore the annual Arabesque Festival, the Advisory Council on Arab Affairs that former Mayor Rahm Emanuel cancelled for racist reasons in 2009 immediately after he was elected Mayor. Vallas also promised to ensure that Arab Americans would not only be a part of his administration at different government levels and positions, but he would also reach out to Arab American organizations to discuss important issues facing the city of Chicago and its residents.
